What changed
xAI's Grok Bot changelog for version 0.70.2, dated October 11, 2026, says Bots can now pay with X Money or Stripe Link. The same update lets a Bot claim its own email address, where anything it sends waits for your approval on a draft card, and search X without you connecting an X account.
Stripe had already named Grok Bot, on September 29, among the personal agents that use Link's wallet for agents. Our read: together, those changes are why so many people on X are now trying Bots on real errands, such as comparing prices, ordering things and chasing bills.
How paying actually works
The official route is not "give the Bot your card". On Link's page, you approve the amount before every purchase, and Link creates a one-time-use card for each payment and logs it. Since October 7, card fields at checkout get a Secure Form instead of a screen handoff.
xAI's approvals docs list purchases among the actions that should always stop for you, and say payment confirmations, passwords and codes should be done by you through Take over. The October 11 update adds that a Bot checks your own messages for approval before anything it can't undo, such as sending, posting, buying or deleting.
So if a post on X tells you to send the Bot a photo of your card, don't. Nothing in the docs asks for that.
Where it can still go wrong
Approval only covers the action you approve; xAI says it does not undo work already done. If a routine asks for approval while you are away, the request expires after about 10 minutes and the action does not run, so recurring jobs should stop at a draft. You can make that strict with Ask first rules in Settings, which always win over Allow automatically rules.
We could not confirm which countries, plans or fees apply to X Money or Link payments in Grok Bot; the changelog does not say. Savings stories shared on X are individual claims we have not verified. Grok Bot itself is listed from the $30/month Premium plan.
Try it on a job you repeat
The safest way to start is a job that reads and drafts, not one that pays. Our new playbook walks through it: one Bot, one job, a skill, a tested routine and approval rules, with a copy-paste interview prompt for every chat step.
