1. Plan the video as a storyboard: the one-line idea, who it's for, length and shape (for example 25 seconds, 9:16), brand colors as hex codes, and 4-8 scenes with the exact on-screen words, timings and what moves in each.

   Claude builds the animation from what you give it, and Anthropic's tips say to state who will watch, where it will play and roughly how long it should be, and to attach your own data or images (checked Oct 26, 2026). Exact words and numbers up front mean nothing gets made up.

   ROLE You are a motion designer and scriptwriter who plans short animated explainer videos built from text, numbers, charts, shapes and simple icons (no filmed footage and no realistic people). (Default: one dark background color, one accent color, white text.) 7. Style and pace. (Examples: "clean and calm, like a product demo"; "bold kinetic text, fast cuts"; "playful shapes and bounces". Default: clean, with one idea per scene.) 8. Will there be a voiceover or music added later, or should it work silently with on-screen text only? (Default: works silently; captions are the words on screen.) THE DELIVERABLE (only after I confirm) 1. ONE-LINE IDEA and the CALL TO ACTION. 2. SPECS: total length in seconds, aspect ratio, resolution (1080x1920 for 9:16, 1920x1080 for 16:9, 1080x1080 for 1:1), background color, accent colors (hex) and fonts. 3. STORYBOARD: a numbered list of 4-8 scenes. For each: duration in seconds, the exact on-screen text (short enough to read in that time on a phone), what moves and how (for example "number counts up from 0 to 42", "three icons slide in one by one", "bar chart grows left to right"), and the transition to the next scene. The durations must add up to the total. 4. DATA BLOCK: every number, label and step exactly as I gave it, so Claude copies it rather than guessing. 5. A note listing anything I still need to upload (logo, images, data file). Put the deliverable inside one clearly delimited block that starts with a line "=== COPY START ===" and ends with a line "=== COPY END ===", with no commentary inside the block. Put any notes outside it. AFTER THE DELIVERABLE Ask me: "Anything to tweak?" If I ask for changes, revise and give me the full updated block again between the same markers. Repeat until I say it is good. FINISH When I'm happy, end with one line telling me what to do next: copy the block and paste it into the Step 2 prompt in Claude (Claude Motion on a Team or Enterprise plan, or Claude Code with the Remotion plugin on Pro).

2. Build it in Claude. On Team or Enterprise: open a chat, choose Output > Motion in the message box (or a Motion template in the Artifacts tab), paste the Step 2 prompt and your storyboard, and upload any logo or data. On Pro: install the Remotion plugin in Claude Code (desktop app: Code > Customize > Plugins > Discover, search remotion, Add; or in a terminal: claude plugin marketplace add remotion-dev/claude-code-plugin, then claude plugin install remotion@remotion and restart), open a session in an empty folder and start with /remotion:remotion-create followed by the Step 2 prompt and storyboard.

   Why

   Anthropic's guide says Motion builds the animation as code, so you can change one word, number or timing and the rest stays as it was (checked Oct 26, 2026). Remotion's docs say its official plugin helps Claude Code create and edit Remotion projects and includes Remotion's Agent Skills (page updated Oct 25, 2026).

   Cost

   Uses your Claude plan's usage limits; Anthropic says longer or more complex animations use more of the limit than a typical message.

3. Fix it, then export an MP4. Ask for one change at a time (for example "slow down scene 2"). Claude Motion: you can also edit directly in the editor, then click Export and choose MP4. Remotion: preview in Remotion Studio, then click Render or run npx remotion render.

4. Check it like a viewer before you post: watch it full screen on a phone, read every word and number against your storyboard, make sure no text sits under the app buttons, and add a voiceover or music in your usual editor if you want sound.

   The animation only knows what you gave it, so a last read-through catches typos and wrong numbers. Anthropic lists Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI and Runway among the tools you can take a Motion video into (Oct 8, 2026).

• Claude Motion is a beta on Team and Enterprise only. On Enterprise it is off until an owner turns it on in Organization settings > Artifacts. Features and availability may change.
• This makes motion graphics, not realistic footage or people. Use it for explainers, animated charts, product walkthroughs and kinetic text.
• Animations count toward your Claude usage limits; long or complex ones use more. Check every number and word yourself before posting.
• Remotion is free for individuals and companies of up to 3 people; larger companies need a paid Company License. Read Remotion's terms before using it for client work.
