What happened
On Oct 23, Higgsfield, the AI image and video platform, said TCV and NVIDIA have invested in it as an extension of the Series B round DST Global led in August. TCV is the firm that backed Netflix and Spotify; NVIDIA makes the GPUs Higgsfield runs on. The news was announced from San Francisco and Astana, during NVIDIA's CEO's first visit to Kazakhstan, where Higgsfield has deep roots.
Higgsfield says it will spend the money on product development, global infrastructure, hiring and expanding sales.
The numbers, and whose they are
Every figure in the announcement is reported by Higgsfield itself: more than 40 million users in 238 countries and territories, more than $1 billion in annualized revenue run rate reached in September (18 months after launch), and 150 million generations a month. Variety reports that the August round raised $400 million at a $5.4 billion valuation.
What is not confirmed
How much TCV and NVIDIA put in, and any new valuation, were not disclosed; Variety says the company declined to share the amounts. The user and revenue numbers have not been independently verified. Higgsfield has not announced any change to its plans, credit prices or models as part of this news, so don't expect one because of it.
What it means if you make videos on Higgsfield
Day to day, nothing changes yet. Higgsfield says it is moving to NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin chips to meet demand, which is the part most likely to matter to users if it means more capacity, but it gave no timeline or speed figures.
Two practical notes: Higgsfield Academy, its learning platform for AI filmmaking, now has a free course built from its open-sourced 15-minute short film Kök Börü, and Higgsfield keeps shipping tools, such as Ideogram Vector 1.0 for SVG logos and icons, which it added on the same day. If you are deciding whether to subscribe, judge it on the models and credit prices you would actually use, not on the funding news.
